 LE LIBERE DONNE
TV SERIES | 4 EPISODES

OUT MARCH 10 2026

At the heart of the story is Mario Tobino (Lino Guanciale), a psychiatrist and poet working at the Maggiano women’s asylum. After returning from the Libyan front during the war, Tobino brings a more progressive, humane approach to his patients, steering clear of the harsher treatments commonly used at the time.

At the hospital he meets Margherita Lenzi (Grace Kicaj), a young woman committed by her husband against her will. Tobino begins to suspect she isn’t mentally ill at all, but rather the victim of abuse and injustice.

A deep bond grows between them, leading Tobino to challenge the system and risk his career in order to stand up for the truth.
